No, you do not need Roblox premium to make a group. Anyone can create a group on Roblox for free. However, there are some features that are only available to groups with premium memberships. Here you will find an “Edit Group Settings” button. If you are not the “manager” of the group you want to make, make sure that you ask your dad or mom to click on it and add them as a manager.

Now that we have made the group, we should probably think of a name for it. You can call your group whatever you want as long as there aren’t other groups with the same name. If you have chosen a name and click “Done“, this is what it will look like:

Once you’re done uploading all those cool Roblox videos (or even if you aren’t), we’ll continue with setting up the group! To do this, click on “Members” on the Group Video Channel page. You will now be able to set up friends or manage members who are already in your group! This is what it looks like:
In here, you can see if anyone from your friend’s list is already a member of the group, and you can also search for other Roblox players by their username or player ID.
If you have found someone to add as a friend or a member, click “Invite“. Once you have added some awesome people as your friends and/or group members, we’ll continue making this group awesome! We will do this by adding moderators and admins that can help manage the group! In order to do this click on “Group Mods”, and it will show you this:
On this page, you can add friends as mods by clicking on “Add Friend as Mod” and selecting the friend you want to add! If you want to remove a mod, just click “Remove Mod” next to the name of the mod. Adding admins is similar to adding mods except for the fact that Admins have more control over the group than mods do.
Admins can:
- Delete messages from the chat
- Kick people from the chat
- Ban people from chatting for a set amount of time
- Change the settings of the group (eg. make it invite only)
To add an admin, click on “Add Admin” and select the friend you want to add!
