How To Clean Fingerprints Off Laptop Screen – Best Way to Get Rid of Fingerprints

Clean Fingerprints off Laptop Screen

Is there a way to clean fingerprints off of my laptop screen? It’s starting to bother me. I wipe it with a piece of cloth but it doesn’t come off. What can I do?

I know how you feel. Even if I take care of a computer a lot, I just can’t prevent some smudges from appearing on your screen.

Laptops are made of plastic, so if you use a cloth to wipe the fingerprints off the surface, you will end up scratching it even more! You can try using water with dish soap or diluted alcohol (soap + alcohol mix) but be careful not to let any drops of liquids get inside your laptop.

If you do get some water in your laptop, turn it off right away and remove the battery. Do not use any other power source! Give the computer an hour to dry up before you connect it back again to the AC adapter.

There are also professional products for this purpose, but I don’t know if they’ll help you to get rid of the smudges.

I would advise against using toothpaste or any type of abrasive product because they may scratch your screen too. The best way to fix it is to take your laptop to a professional service. If you don’t have enough money to do that, buy an inexpensive desktop computer and just use it as you want without worrying about fingerprints!

Nowadays laptops seem like fashion accessories more than work tools, so people tend to clean them less often than desktop computers. That’s why they’re dirtier and scratched up after two years instead of five if someone takes care of them properly. So try cleaning your computer with a solvent once in two months or so.

What is the best way to clean fingerprints off a laptop?

My MacBook Pro got some fingerprint spots all over its screen/case – how do I remove them?

I would never recommend using toothpaste to get rid of these marks, no matter how good it may work. This is because the abrasive particles in the paste will scratch your screen and leave ugly patches all over it. If you want to give it a try, be very gentle when applying the toothpaste on the laptop. You should also never use any other products with chemicals or solvents unless they are made specifically for cleaning screens (check their ingredients).

If you own your MacBook Pro for more than six months, there’s every chance that some dust particles have gathered under its display covering (the aluminum one). Apple has put some warnings about this issue on its website, saying that these specks of dust can cause problems with the laptop’s screen. So if you’ve got some dust or dirt under your screen and can’t remove it with a cloth, take your laptop to an Apple store and ask them to fix this issue for you.

They should be able to disassemble the device and clean it up in one of their workshops. Another possible reason why smudges appear on your MacBook Pro is that its display is not properly aligned anymore. If that is the case, they will need to replace some parts at their service center (no matter how good they may try, there’s no way you can do it yourself) but this would cost money because fixing such issues isn’t free at any repair shop around the world.

For less severe problems like smudges and fingerprints on the display, you can use a cloth to clean your laptop. The best way is to moisten it with some water (don’t soak it!) and then wipe the surface down carefully.

Don’t forget that if you spill food or liquids on your MacBook Pro’s keyboard or trackpad, turn off your laptop immediately – don’t try turning it back on! – and take the necessary steps to dry everything out properly. If this doesn’t happen, there’s a big chance that your device will be permanently damaged.

How do I clean fingerprints off my iPad?

My sister got an iPad and the screen is filled with fingerprints. How can I clean it?

I assume you’re talking about the original iPad, not the new iPad (iPad 2). So it’s much easier to fix this problem because there are no air gaps between the touchscreen and the display covering, which means that it’s easily accessible by any kind of cleaning material. In addition, there are special products on sale that will help you remove those smudges without damaging your tablet.

The only thing you have to consider is being careful when opening up your tablet to reach its display – don’t want to break anything, right? But apart from that, it should be straightforward to clean the fingerprints off your iPad.

Some smudges on the screen can be removed with a damp cloth, but I’m sure you’ll need some cleaning products for tougher stains.

If your iPad is more than a year old and has never been cleaned before, it’s a good idea to open up the tablet first and look for any dirt or dust particles that may have gathered inside. These specks of dust are the main reason why new devices always arrive with less smudge marks – they’re not there from the factory! So if you find yourself facing this issue, don’t hesitate to clean up your device.
